Being a bartender might require quite a bit more than you first thought. It is not all fun and games, it is not just a cheesy job or career, it can be a very challenging and reputable career, if you take all of the proper steps that can help get you to that point. It can be the best job you have ever had the opportunity to have in your lifetime. It will be fun and exciting, along with having to know how to deal with bad behavior from some of your customers sometimes. There will be good times and some bad, with bartending. However, if you get the right amount of training beforehand, you should be more than prepared to take on any type of situation that could arise and handle it professionally and still continue to serve your customers up with the greatest drinks around. That is what it will take in order to be the greatest bartender around, a good attitude, professionalism, patience, bartending skills and people skills, no doubt.
Many times, when people think about a bartender, their first thought is either someone like on "Cheers", friendly, fun and someone that loves to chit chat with customers, or they might think of a really, really hot chick or guy bartender, what a nice thought that is. The fact of the matter is really, it is a nice bonus if you get a really hot bartender, but only if they are also good with the customers and know how to fix every kind of drink that there is available. You can have the looks but have no kind of skills whatsoever, when it comes to being behind the bar. That is not the kind of bartender that any nice bar would want on staff. To be a good, professional and efficient bartender, it takes so much more than just your good looks, like I said, that is a bonus of course. Everyone loves getting drinks from someone that is kind to the eyes, right. However, they must have the bartending skills to back up their confidence. It is very important to have knowledge of all sorts of drinks and have the ability to be very friendly with every kind of person that comes into your bar.
There are so very many different things that you can do in order to be the greatest at bartending, you just have to take mental notes of these things and begin practicing them and putting them to good use the next time you step behind the bar. People want someone that they can rely on, so if you know how to create their drinks of likings and do it fast, along with talking to them and having a few laughs, they will really grow to appreciate you and your bartending abilities. Bartending school, along with so much dedication and determination, can get you just where you need to be, in order to be that great bartender you have always dreamed of being and in return you will be paid some very high tips, earning yourself quite a good keep.
